Kissing Your Babies On The Lips Could Kill Them – Learn The Precautions!

Cold Sore Herpes Virus (HSV-1) Can Be Transmitted To Newborns With Just A Simple Kiss

Never let anyone kiss your baby on the lips, for they are at risk of contracting cold sores that can eventually be fatal. The “Cold Sores” are a type of Herpes called Herpes Simplex Virus(HSV-1), and in children it can be potentially fatal. Especially if your baby is under 3 months old. TheUniversity of Maryland’s Medical Center puts the percentage of Americans who are infected by the virus at 90%.
The virus originates from the Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 and is often transmitted to kids through a shared cup, utensil, or slobbery toy with someone who has the virus. Kissing can also add to that probability. While the cold sores themselves are not dangerous, they can be deadly if they spread to certain parts of your baby’s body,

According to Baby Center, the Herpes virus can spread to the brain and other vital organs, causing painful damage that can be brutally fatal for your child.

Always keep watch on your child! This will be the main source of prevention. Do NOT let your child within the first 3 months of their infancy share any type of utensil or kiss anyone on the lips!
Couples Carl and Marie McCormic, as well as Sarah Pugh and Douglas Lampton know this too well. Their newborns died from multiple organ failure after contracting the cold sore causing Herpes virus.

The American Academy of Family Physicians reported to ABC this shocking statistic:

“About 1,500 to 2,200 babies under 1 month old contract herpes each year in the United States, and untreated, the virus is fatal in up to 85 percent of cases. The majority of neonatal herpes simplex infections are caused by HSV-2, but about 30 percent are caused by HSV-1.”
